João’s love for two wheels started early. As a young man, he was immersed in enduro motorcycling, but eventually transitioned to road cycling in the early 2000s. For years, riding gave him freedom, fitness, and the thrill of endurance — but like many adult athletes, life took over. Work, responsibilities, and time away from the saddle slowly chipped away at his form and motivation.
It wasn’t until a one year ago, standing at the start line of one of the early Granfondo Torres Vedras events, that João noticed something different: a new energy, a strong community of passionate cyclists, and a name that stood out — Portugal Cycling Academy.
